Screen Shield tips and tricks
|
| Network Path
connection mode configuration |
Here are 5 easy steps for setting up Cafe Manger and Shield in Network Path connection mode.
- Install Cafe Manager on a system connected into network. This will be your admin PC, usually situated at reception, where you are dealing with customers.
- Install Shield on systems for users in a network. In Shield's Edit Menu select 'Network Path Connection' mode. Share Shield's directory with full access for admin PC (where Cafe Manger is installed).
- On admin PC, map network drive for every Shield's share directory on a network. Check box 'Reconnect at start up'
- Reboot admin PC, just to make sure everything is OK.
- In Cafe Manager go to menu Tools>Settings, select 'Network Path Connection' mode and configure Network Path through a mapped drive for every PC where you have Shield installed.

| Using
one configuration file for all clients |
After you finished Set up Wizard on one system, Screen Shield will record almost all information into a Lock.ini file.
You can create a master Lock.ini file. With master INI file you can edit settings for Screen Shield only once and all clients will pick up changes next time program is
started or ini file is updated.
Create Master INI file
- Create shared network folder with Permissions set
to Full Access rights. There you are going to store
master INI file and any other files (i.e. background
and advertisement images, custom tools etc ). Please
make sure that client systems have read/write access
to this folder.
- Start Screen Shield wizard on any of the clients
- Click Create New... button and navigate to
shared folder you created earlier and click Save.
- Click Next to configure rest of the options. Click
Finish to save settings to Lock.ini file in shared
folder.
Configure rest of the clients to use Master INI file
- Start Screen Shield Wizard on each of the
remaining clients
- Click Open... button, navigate to shared
folder and select Lock.ini file and click Open.
- Click Finish button. If any of the configuration
settings are missing Wizard will prompt you to
correct missing field. If everything is OK - Wizard
will end and client is connected to Master INI file
