Screen Shield |
||
| How Screen Shield works | ||
Screen Shield must be running in Active (Locked) or Inactive (Unlocked) mode in order for server application (Cafe Manager) to communicate with it. When PC is Unlocked. Inactive mode - Screen Shield icon is displayed on System Tray. A Timer window is shown to a customer (if required). When PC is Locked. Active mode - Basically it looks like a screen saver with one major difference: User can't do anything. There is no mouse move or key press event, Windows Start button and Alt-Ctrl-Del combination is disabled. Default settings for Active mode are: Black screen with following text: "Click to login." In server application, when you click Start or End or Lock etc buttons, the program send a signal to the Screen Shield. Screen Shield process received signal accordingly. For example: Start button will force Screen Shield to Unlock the client. Before you can control Screen Shield through the server application you need to correctly configure Screen Shield usage in server application and in Screen Shield itself. Both programs must use exactly the same Connection Mode: either IP Addresses or Network Path. (See server application's help file for more information)
