You can extend functionality of Screen Shield by adding custom made programs or batch files. You can write your own batch files or applications and configure Screen Shield to execute them at pre-defined actions (slots). 

Actions:  There are 6 available slots to hook up Custom tools:
1. Before Screen Shield Lock
2. After Screen Shield Lock
3. Before Unlock
4. After Unlock
5. Before Restart
6. Before Shutdown

For example: if you wish to show some message to a customer when he/she access the system you can instruct Screen Shield to execute program or batch file in slot 4.

If you select Wait? check box - Screen Shield will wait until execution of the attached custom tool is finished. Use this option carefully. Always make sure that your program is terminated correctly.

You cannot instruct Screen Shield to Wait for Actions 2 and 3. Screen Shield will simply execute specified programs and continue with own execution as normal.
